xAI · Grok 4
xAI released Grok 4.6 on August 12, 2026.
Grok 4.6 is the xAI (SpaceXSI) frontier model released on August 12, 2026 for coding, agentic tasks and knowledge work, with a particular focus on long-running agents and more ambitious interactive and visual work. It has a 500k context window, text and image input with text output, and no text output limit. Pricing is $2 / $0.50 / $6 per million input / cached input / output tokens below 200k prompt tokens, and $4 / $1 / $12 above. Reasoning effort supports low, medium, high (default) and xhigh. It is available on the xAI API, in Cursor and Grok Build, and through partners including OpenRouter, Vercel and Cloudflare.
Grok 4.6 had a longer supplemental training run than Grok 4.5, and xAI says it produces stronger first passes on visual and interactive projects and checks its own work more on long tasks.
Against Grok 4.5 (both at high effort) it scores 61 vs 56 on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index, 69.9% vs 66.7% on CursorBench v3.2 and 65.9% vs 54% on DeepSWE v1.1. It also adds an xhigh effort level.
