Mistral Large 3 is the Mistral AI model released on December 2, 2025 as part of the Mistral 3 family. It is a sparse mixture-of-experts model with 41B active and 675B total parameters, Mistral's first mixture-of-experts model since the Mixtral series, released as open weights under the Apache 2.0 licence with image understanding. It launched on Mistral AI Studio, Amazon Bedrock, Azure Foundry, Hugging Face, IBM WatsonX, OpenRouter, Fireworks, Together AI and others, with the API id mistral-large-2512. The Ministral 3 models (3B, 8B and 14B, each with base, instruct and reasoning variants) were released alongside it. Its successor is Mistral Large 4.
